SnooCODE's Contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Goal 1- No Poverty
One of the biggest challenges affiliated with the developing world is the lack of addresses which serves as a starting point for socio-economic inequalities, leaving people in poverty. Without an address, some find themselves unable to access some of life’s basic services like banking, water, electricity, emergency services and the like. SnooCODE allows anyone, everywhere the power to generate their own unique SnooCODE which serves as an address hence, opening new doors for better and equal opportunities.
In addition, theSnooCODE system enhances location saving, sharing and navigation whichcontributes to job creation in the delivery sector andimproves e-commerce and the unbanked banking systems thereby increasing productivity and efficiency with or without access to the internet.
Goal 2- Zero Hunger
By increasing agricultural productivity and improving agricultural extension services, SnooCODE can make it easier for farmers to access services in the agriculture-value chain such as fertilizer deliveries and tractor services. SnooCODE also makes It easier for extension officers to locate farming communities to provide the necessary materials and assistance in all areas in the agriculture-value chain.
The enhanced systems will lead to better cultivation practices, the quality of processes and harvests and hence, an increase in yield and income for small-scale farmers, and a reduction in hunger levels in communities. The route optimization systemreducestravel time and fuel consumptionand also makes access to food resources cheaper and easier.
Goal 3-Good Health and well-being
SnooCODE Red improves access to healthcare for everyone by providing systems that enhance public and emergency health services, including maternal emergencies, epidemiology such as door-to-door vaccination exercises and by optimizing routes and improving emergency response times of first responders, significantly cutting down travel time during emergencies which could be the defining factor for a patients survival. in the most efficient and fastest way possible.
Goal 4 -Quality Education
SnooCODE’s Space Time Stamp Verification system (STS) ensures increased access to quality education and efficient distribution of educational materials.
SnooCODE also facilitates the provision of computers, internet and other essential amenities to schools for pedagogical purposes via location mapping and drone technologies.
Goal 5 – Gender Equality
With SnooCODE’s digital addresses, women in some parts of Africa can (now) access services such as bank accounts and bank loans, which may not have been possible before.
SnooCODE’s panic button offers women and children easy access to help in emergency situations.
Goal 6 – Clean water and sanitation
SnooCODE’s digital waste management system reduces service costs by optimizing logistics, enabling verification of compliance, and providing an easy reporting mechanism for citizens and solid waste collectors. This system will ensure reduction in solid waste in the environment, hence, reduced quantities of solid/plastic waste in water bodies, leading to improved quality of water and sanitation.
Goal 7 – Affordable and Clean energy
With its route optimization capabilities there is an increased potential to reduce vehicular carbon emissions into the environment. SnooCODE also runs in an efficient manner that reduces energy consumption/ emission into the environment from developer to end user. For example, SnooCODE does not have centralized storage of personal location data and hence does not contribute to huge footprint from Cloud data centres.
Goal 8 - DECENT WORK & ECONOMIC GROWTH
By creating jobs among citizens in the eCommerce, delivery, and software development sectors and reducing poverty rates, SnooCODE helps sustain the economic growth of a country’s citizens.
By providing people with accurate and memorable digital addresses, SnooCODE empowers everyone, regardless of their location or social position to access financial services. This makes it easier for people like farmers and women to secure bank loans to expand their businesses.
Goal 9 - Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure
Resource constraints have been one of the biggest challenges in industries across developing countries over the years. WithSnooCODE, there is reduction inthe need for new infrastructure such ascontrol rooms. The lack of infrastructure makes the system affordable and accessible to all,in a world where infrastructure like emergency response systems tend to be capital intensive but vital to a country's economic development and prosperity.
Goal 10 – Reduced Inequalities
SnooCODE’s digital addresses promotes inclusion by empowering everyone regardless of their location or social position to access financial services and other basic amenities that were previously unaccessible. This makes such services available to previously excluded populations such as slum dwellers.
SnooCODE also helps reduce all forms of economic, educational, and geographic discrimination with its offline capabilities. People in places with no official government addresses and poor internet coverage, e.g., rural communities, can be reached and given the necessary assistance during emergencies, disasters, and related crisis events in the same way as people in more progressive areas.
Goal 11 – Sustainable Cities & Communities
By providing an efficient and cost-effective address for every location, especially rural areas and informal settlements, SnooCODE’s addressing system will make it more possible to access safe and affordable basic amenities like water, electricity, and waste management services.
Our Digital Waste system also allows customers to request waste pick-ups which contributes to reducing carbon emissions in the environment, improving air quality, and effectively managing waste across communities and countries.
Goal 12 – Responsible Consumption & Production
The SnooCODE digital addresses and the route optimisation capabilities will connect farmers to larger food distribution channels in the supply chain, i.e., consumers and food distribution markets.
The increase in the number of people who access harvested food will significantly reduce the rate of spoilage in yield, consequently leading to a reduction post-harvest loss.
Goal 13 – Climate action
SnooCODE helps reduce vehicular carbon footprint by optimizing routes which makes it possible to visit multiple locations in the most efficient and timeliest manner. This helps save fuel and reduce the effects of climate change on the environment.
SnooCODE alsoimproves accessibility to health services and victims of disasters and provides casualties withtimely assistance, in the event of climate-related hazards and natural disasters.
Goal 14 – Life below water
SnooCODE’s digital waste management system contributes to reducing plastic waste in waterbodies by optimising logistics, enabling verification of compliance, and providing an easy reporting mechanism for citizens and plastic waste collectors.
SnooCODE’s drone integration capabilities enable efficient data collection and allow researchers/policy makers access to reliable biodiversity information such as forest cover, especially in such areas as mangroves, where people cannot easily visit by foot.
Goal 15 – Life on land
Using SnooCODE’s space-time-stamp verification function, concerned citizens can reduce the rate of deforestation in their communities, especially if they are biodiversity areas.
SnooCODE’s drone integration capabilities facilitate people’s access to mountain ecosystems to help in effective monitoring of inaccessible conservation areas like mountains.
Goal 16 – Peace, Justice & strong institutions
SnooCODE has developed a proprietary software that digitally signs documents and with this system, the chances of falsification are 1 in 60.7 trillion. In the media for instance, leveraging SnooCODE’s STS photo solution will empower ordinary citizens to report crimes and newsworthy stories without fear.
SnooCODE Red’s emergency service and panic button ensure quick and easy access to emergency situations by the right institutions to Significantly reduce all forms of violence and related death rates everywhere.
SnooCODE’s STS verification system also enables workers such as teachers, waste collectors and public health personnel to provide proof of compliance, as required by the demands of their work.
Goal 17 – Partnerships
The SDGs can only be realized with strong global partnerships and cooperation and as such, on our mission to achieve our part of the SDGs, we have partnered with several African and International institutions who share similar principles and values. Our partnerships include the Royal Academy of Engineering, Vodafone Ghana Foundation, the Embassy of Switzerland, UNICEF Startup Labs, MEST, Imperial College London, Emergency Medicine Society of Ghana (EMSOG), Namibia Private Ambulance Service (NPAS).
